Abi Komolafe is British with roots in Nigeria (Yoruba tribe) and is thriving as an entrepreneur in Tokyo. Raised in England, Abi’s childhood abruptly took a turn when his family moved back to Nigeria. Abi fondly describes the food that provided comfort to ease his troubled 8-year old mind: plantains. Abi is the first importer/wholesaler of plantains in Japan, and he is passionate about introducing healthy additions (i.e., vegetable chips) to his product line. Covid times has given his e-commerce business an unexpected bump in growth. With customers migrated over to online shopping instead of in-person purchases due to the safety factor.
