Our guest extraordinaire is Rick Roberts, lightweight boxing champion in Japan, a 22-time defender who, at 36 years old, fought for the World Championship! Rick aspired to be a boxer at age six and started training at 12. He became pro at 18 years old with a debut fight at Madison Square Garden. Rick joined the US Air Force, and his first assignment was Misawa, Japan, which fulfilled another of his childhood dreams to come to Japan. After moving to Yokota AF base, Rick started training as a lightweight and fought professionally, overcoming a shoulder injury. He now owns and runs a boxing gym in Fussa, training five pros with a great training team and the World Championship on the horizon!
