MICHIGAN LOVE - Scott Smalley - Lance E. Lee Podcast Episode #91

After his morning swim workout at TAC, Scott Smalley sat down with me to share exciting stories about his experience in Japan. Scott first came to Japan in 1986 with a unique exchange program set up by a professor of Lansing Community College (Michigan) and an executive in Kansai. Along with other students, Scott worked on the sternwheeler “Michigan” in Lake Biwa. This 10-month internship was the impetus to bring Scott back to work in Japan with a logistics company. He has been in the industry for 30 years and is the Managing Director at DSV. Scott and his wife Marie plan to stay in Tokyo for several more years until retirement, at which time they may base their “second life” in Hawaii.
